Les Commandeurs
ROSÉ 2021
AOP Côtes de Provence
Technical sheet Les Commandeurs Rosé
On the strength of our long experience in the production of Provence wines, we have developed our range by always favouring the permanent search for quality. We carefully select the best terroirs, the finest grapes and share best practices with our partner winegrowers to create authentic wines that reflect the DNA of Peyrassol.
Soil
Clay and limestone from the inland valleys, associated with some schistose parcels.
The 2021 vintage
To say that the 2021 vintage was a long and quiet river would be a sweet joke! However, Peyrassol went through the ordeal without suffering adversity.
At the end of April, a historic frost from the northwest (-9°) hit the region. The vines, late, have not really bud. The loss was minimal.
Not a drop of rain all summer long! Deeply rooted, the Peyrassol vineyard has rather well resisted.
In mid-August, a fire of rare violence broke out in the plain of Le Luc, sowing desolation in its path. The mistral was kind for Peyrassol and repels the fire in the direction opposite.
At the beginning of September, a hail storm destroyed the entire harvest of the village of Pignan, just a few miles from the estate. Our hills have blocked this cloud!
Finally, floods ravage all the surrounding municipalities… but stop at the gates of Flassans!
And at the end, the ultimate reward with an exceptional quality of musts and wines.
Tasting notes
Soft colour reminiscent of rose petals. A beautiful nose of English candy, strawberry and raspberry aromas followed by slightly redcurrant and citrus fruit notes. The delicate and tender palate, marked by the complexity of red and exotic fruit flavours, fully releases all the grape varieties’ expression.
Grape varieties
40 % Grenache – 30 % Cinsault – 15 % Syrah – 5 % Mourvèdre – 10 % Vermentino
Vinification
Traditional in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats after delicate pneumatic pressing.

The beautiful liveliness of this wine will go perfectly with salmon sushi, scallop ceviche or baked sea bass with fennel.
Ageing
A few months in stainless steel vats on fine lees allow the aromatic freshness to be respected as much as possible.
